Anne Milton resigns as Apprenticeship and Skills Minister following the appointment of the new Prime Minister.
An avid champion for more funding in the FE sector Milton had held the post for over two years. She had overseen reforms including the apprenticeship levy, T-levels, and devolution of the adult education budget.
Her resignation letter focused on the impact of functional skills, the importance of leaving the EU with a deal, and her gratitude towards former Prime Minister Theresa May:
“I will be forever grateful for all the support you have given me.”
No successor to Ms Milton will be appointed as a result of the recent cabinet restructuring.
