£8,000 Project Funding to help with quality of Functional Skills delivery

There is an opportunity for FE teachers to develop innovative approaches for teaching new functional skills qualifications.

The Education and Training Foundation will be funding and supporting 15 partnerships between post-16 providers to explore approaches to teaching functional skills. There will be grants worth £8,000 available, £6,000 will be in cash and £2,000 in in-kind support.

The new programme will be run by Creative Education and will support the FE workforce with the introduction of the reformed maths and English functional skills in September 2019. The projects must be delivered in a partnership between a minimum of two providers.

The teaching methods devised by the 15 projects started in November and will run until next May. They will be shared across the sector in the form of how-to guides and videos.

Funding and other support will be available for each partnership, as well as an assigned project mentor. Attendance on a range of workshops throughout the duration of the programme will also be available.

Providers should register their interest on the Creative Education website, completed applications should be submitted by 31st October.
