We are delighted and proud to announce that bksb’s Managing Director, Harvinder Atwal, has been named Business Woman of the Year at the prestigious British Indian Awards.

The awards, which recognise successful business people of Indian heritage, look to capture the multicultural and entrepreneurial spirit in the UK as well as a celebration of achievement by all those nominated. Harvinder was presented with her award at a high profile ceremony on Friday held at Athena in Leicester.

Harvinder has been Managing Director of bksb for the past nine years, driving the domestic and international expansion of our award-winning eLearning company who support individuals from all walks of life to improve their English, maths and ICT skills.

bksb is a subsidiary of West Nottinghamshire College, and has seen its online learning resources used by more than 25 million people and thousands of education providers across the world since its launch almost 20 years ago. In the UK alone, over 87% of colleges and hundreds of schools, training providers, local authorities and employers use its solutions to improve teaching and learning.

Dame Asha Khemka, principal and chief executive of West Nottinghamshire College Group, said:

“My warmest congratulations to Harvinder on this much-deserved accolade. Under Harvinder’s dynamic and inspirational leadership, bksb is now firmly established as the country’s market-leading provider of eLearning for English, maths and ICT.”

“bksb helps millions of people across the world to improve their English, maths and ICT skills every year, which boosts both individual and organisational prosperity. Harvinder’s drive and business skills are fundamental to the company’s ongoing success and I am delighted this has been recognised with this prestigious award.”

Tim Clarke, Chair of the Board at bksb, said:

“I was absolutely delighted to learn of Harvinder’s success at being named Businesswoman of the Year at the British Indian Awards last week.”

“Harvinder has a relentless focus on continuous improvement, ensuring that our customers receive the very best service standards and delivery. She is a truly motivational and charismatic leader and I have been delighted to see bksb stride forward into the internationally renowned business it now is.”

“This award complements entirely bksb’s recent success of being named as ICT Company of the Year at the recent BETT Awards 2016.”

Harvinder herself said:

I am extremely proud and humbled to have been presented with this award. It would not have been possible without the hard word and innovative approach of the entire team at bksb, and I am excited about what the future holds as we continue working to achieve further success for the business.
