Personal Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS) attainment will be a requirement for apprentices

The Skills Funding Agency, Department for Education and the Department for Business Innovation and Skills have outlined that an intermediate level apprenticeship framework must specify that an apprentice must achieve the standards of attainment set out in the Personal Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS) national outcomes. To achieve the six PLTS outcomes the apprentice must demonstrate the following skills: independent enquiry, creative thinking, reflective learning, team working, self- management and effective participation. An intermediate level apprenticeship framework must also specify where achievement of the PLTS is located within the apprenticeship framework, either within a qualification or elsewhere, and how achievement is to be evidenced.

The bksb Personal Learning and Thinking Skills Assessment can help learners to meet the standards of attainment set out in the Personal Learning and Thinking Skills national outcomes and provide evidence of completion of all 37 PLTS outcome statements. To find out more click here.
