Interactive Personal Learning and Thinking Skills Assessment (PLTS)

The PLTS & Employability Skills Assessor comprises of an interactive initial assessment and 6 evidence-generating activities designed to develop the skills needed to gain and retain a job.

PLTS Initial Assessment
Poses a series of questions regarding the 37 PLTS outcome statements and assesses an individual’s favoured learner type, e.g. Creative thinker, Independent enquirer, etc.

Evidence-generating Activities
Based around employability skills, completion of these 6 individual and group activities will provide:

• evidence of the completion of all 37 PLTS outcome statements (essential for Ofsted inspection)
• evidence for certain units within personal and social development and work skills courses
• evidence for functional skills in speaking, listening and communication
• development of functional skills in reading and writing
• a resource for work placement preparation for diploma students
