National Apprenticeship Week (14th – 18th March) saw hundreds of exciting activities and events take place across England this month. The government’s 2020 vision of 3 million apprenticeships is looking increasingly promising as apprenticeship participation in the 2014 – 2015 academic year stands at 871, 800. As part of National Apprenticeship Week 2016, a further 32, 000 pledges were made by employers declaring to expand their existing apprenticeship offering or to take on an apprentice for the first time. Functional Skills have been a mandatory component of apprenticeships since October 2012 so we are looking forward to supporting all the new apprentices and employers with the bksb Functional Skills Solution.
