Over a third of Work Based Learning Providers have difficulty recruiting staff to teach Functional Skills according to the Education and Training Foundation’s (ETF) annual Workforce Survey. The results show that difficulty in finding and employing English and maths tutors is more widespread than in other subject areas.

Functional Skills Success Rates Released by Skills Funding Agency

According to data released by the Skills Funding Agency, the average success rates for Functional Skills qualifications across the country stands at 62.9%. This figure takes into account results from FE Colleges, Tertiary Colleges and Independent Learning Providers.
